Background:

Shell’s business is energy and the energy business is unique in that not only does it have a huge impact on global development, it offers international career prospects and outstanding challenges.

You will be working for “Shell Global Customer Service Centre” (GCSC), based in the centre of Cape Town (click here to see map). Shell is one of the top 3 companies to work for in the world and thus the opportunity to have this on your CV is indeed a value-added benefit.

Shell’s global contact centre is based in South Africa, catering to the Netherlands and Belgium. The contact centre was previously based in Rotterdam and closed up and moved to SA in 2006.

Currently, Shell will be embarking on a new project which will span 16 months for which they will require staff to come into the business as Customer Service Professionals to assist with all-round queries from their clientele.

Why would you want to be a Customer Services Professional?

  • You will be exposed to many different aspects of the energy business and as a result your knowledge will expand and you will learn a lot 
  • Calls taken are inbound not outbound, which means you will helping people everyday
  • This contract is only for 16 months

 Job Profile and Salary:

The package on offer is based on skills and experience. This includes a contribution to your health fund.

Salaries being offered will be dependent on how well each candidate has scored in each phase of the recruitment process.

Please Note: All candidates have to meet the set-out benchmarks in order to be considered.

Annual leave will be offered relevant to the labour legislation of SA which is15 days per year. You will be required to work on SA public holidays which fall on Dutch business days. And will be given time off when the country you are servicing is on a public holiday.

Recruitment and Selection process:

Kelly Cape Town will conduct a competency based interview telephonically and then Shell will conduct a Dutch language assessment telephonically.

Only candidates who have passed the interview and language stage successfully will be short listed for the post.

Once a final decision has been made around who will be made job offers, Kelly Cape Town will contact you with an offer after which you will be expected to sign a contract. The full process for obtaining the corporate work permit per individual will then take place via Kelly’s Onboarding Division.
