After applying for a job, you will be required to have a telephonic interview with a manager from our client company where you will be based, both in English and languages that you will be required to operate in. Due to the kind of work you will be doing, the manager will ask questions relevant to the work you will be doing

Offer
An offer will be made to you in SA Rands both telephonically and via email. Keep in mind that all offers are in line with South African market related salaries and will be matched according to your skills and experience. Please note: In SA we talk gross salary or basic salary. This means the amount you see in your offer is BEFORE deductions. However, the only deduction you are required to pay if you are on a work visa is tax or PAYE (pay-as-you-earn)

Placed in Pipeline
A contract will be sent to you and after you have signed the contract and sent it back to Kelly you will then be placed in the pipeline. Should you accept the given offer; a lengthy process will begin and you will start the eventful process of emigration. Remember you will be coming into the country on a limited contract, (you are restricted to working for Kelly at our client site) that will be anything between 1 and 3 years.

Three Month Immigration Process
The following information may seem overwhelming but your AE will assist you step by step with this rollercoaster ride in order for us to get you here as soon as possible. Hang in there! You will however, need to adhere to very strict deadlines in terms of getting all your documentation together, especially for the application of your work permit at the South African Embassy.
Departure is a balancing act. In other words, from the time your work permit is issued to the time that you are on your way to SA could be a matter of days. So, in the meantime, make sure you have said your goodbyes to all your friends and family.
The documentation that you need to prepare for the embassy is the following:
- Valid passport (must be valid for 6 months after your contract end date)
- Copy of your birth certificate ( this must be translated into English)
- Medical report
- Radiology report
- Police Clearance Certificate, translated into English OR an Affidavit in Lieu of Police Clearance Certificate (this only states that you have applied for the original certificate)
- Signed Kelly Contract.
- Vaccination Certificate – should you have been in a yellow fever area during the last year; you need to obtain a vaccination certificate from your local travel clinic.
We will e-mail or courier you provisional flight tickets and an original Corporate Workers Certificate (you will submit these air tickets with all your documents to the SA Embassy). The Corporate Workers Certificate needs to be submitted to the SA embassy.
Please Note this is not your actual Work permit, the SA embassy will stamp your work permit in your passport.
When you have all of the above documentation ready then you are ready to lodge your application with the embassy.
Please see below the 12 step process that you have to go through in order to get your work permit. Please follow each step exactly and in the order it is given, as it is in order of priority. Also, feel free to contact your AE regularly to give him/her an update.
Step 1
Read your contract thoroughly, sign it, scan it and return the signed contract to your AE. You cannot take the next step until we have a signed contract of acceptance. Please provide your AE with a physical address where he/she can courier the original documentation that you will require for your work permit application.
Step 2
Please scan and e-mail your AE a copy of your passport, showing the photo and the expiry date.
Step 3
You need to apply for your police clearance. This requires a form from your government. The authorities will ask you for the employers stamp and signature. We do not supply this. So instead, take the accompanying letter from our attorney with you and they should grant you the police clearance based on that letter. This takes approx 2-4 weeks, so we need the RECEIPT OF APPLICATION OF POLICE CLEARANCE and an AFFIDAVIT IN LIEU OF POLICE CLEARANCE to submit to the Embassy. You must sign the affidavit and swear before a magistrate and get the magistrate's signature. The police clearance and affidavit for police clearance can be arranged at your local city hall.
IF YOU DO NOT KNOW THE CONCEPT OF AN AFFIDAVIT PLEASE CONTACT US IMMEDIATELY!
Click here for the affidavit and the directive to obtain police clearance.
Step 4
Set up an appointment with your doctor to complete the downloadable forms – a RADIOLOGY REPORT and a MEDICAL CERTIFICATE. Sometimes your house doctor is happy to do it, however in the Netherlands your house doctor might refer you to an “aarbeids” doctor. When you contact your family doctor explain that it is for immigration purposes. All the Embassy requires is the form signed and completed by the Doctor and Radiologist.
Please note that you may have to have chest X-RAYS, but you don't have to send them through to us here in SA.
Click here for the Medical Report Form and the Radiologist Report Form
These reports are for your own cost.
Step 5
Obtain an original, long, English, (most are multilingual) copy of your birth certificate.
Step 6
If you do not have a birth certificate and are not able to obtain one within a week, you may again have to do an affidavit with the magistrate (city hall) and submit your birth certificate at a later date ( please note that you only have one year to submit it. If need be, perhaps you should do this on the same day that you do your police clearance affidavit)
Click here for the Kelly Affidavit in lieu of birth certificate
Step 7
Ensure you have a valid passport for three and a half years. (An ID / personal number from your country is not enough.)
Step 8
Follow the link and complete the document BI1738 that is highlighted in red. Before you print and sign it, remember to remove the red highlight.
Click here for Application for TRP BI 1738
Step 9
Please find Part P of the BI-1738 form. This is the section completed by the employer and you add this section to the back of the BI-1738 forms that you have already completed. Kelly will courier the last page, which is the original signature of Anne Theodosiou, Operations Manager (Kelly).
Step 10
Kelly will courier the following to your physical address:
1) Original Corporate Workers Authorisation Certificate. This is required by the embassy for your work permit application.
2) An Undertaking of Repatriation fees letter addressed to the South African Embassy.
Please wait for these documents before you make an appointment with the South African Embassy.
Step 11
Kelly will e-mail you a provisional return airline ticket for your anticipated departure date. Please note the original ticket will only be issued after you have received your work permit from the SA Embassy & you have sent a copy to your Kelly AE.
Step 12
You can now make an appointment with the South African embassy to submit your documentation for your work permit!!! You will be required to pay a fee of approximately 150 Euros for the administration costs. This will be reimbursed to you in South Africa. For Suriname citizens you will need to have your documents couriered to the Jamaican embassy, your agency that recruited you will be able to assist you with this.

Ideally you should schedule ALL this as soon as possible and with urgency, because the Embassy requires up to three weeks to process your work permit from the time you submit all the necessary documentation. Please supply copies of all this documentation within a week after you have signed your Kelly contract. If this is not possible, please call and tell us what the problems are so that we can manage arrival expectations with the company you will be working for.
Please Note: The costs incurred for the medical, radiology and police clearance reports are for your own account. Kelly will cover the costs of your return flight (± € 2000.00), attorney's fees (€850.00)
For all European Candidates you will need to pay the Administration fee of € 160.00
To the consulate, this will be reimbursed to you once you arrive in SA.
